THE GAME BEGINS Upon arrival, everyone must check in at the arcade counter. Electronic Waivers are available to be filled out in advance, or can be signed upon arrival. Everyone on your team must then remain close to the entrance door and wait to be summoned by "The Greeter".
Upon entering the arena, you will be prompted to observe a quick 60 second message about your game, at which time everyone will receive a lanyard with a mini flashlight to put around your neck, along with a blindfold. Players will then be prompted to line up with each person putting their hands on the shoulders of the team mate in front of them. At that point, everyone must then put on their blindfolds for The Greeter to lead the group to their chosen room. Once in the room, an audio message will sound that your game is beginning, at which time the blindfold may be pulled down. Please leave your blindfold hanging on your neck, as you will be blindfolded once again when you are led back out of the arena. THE REAPER A Reaper will be watching your every move throughout your game, and will be available for assistance at all times. However, know in advance that communicating with a Reaper is somewhat of a task, as he unfortunately lost his voice (and possibly a bit of his hearing) due to a gondola accident thousands of years ago. Therefore, you must ask only YES or NO questions, and please ask loudly. To do so, simply yell for him until he knocks rapidly to acknowledge that he can hear you. You may then ask your question, of which he will respond with either ONE knock for 'NO' or TWO knocks for 'YES'. If the Reaper remains silent, it may mean that he either did not hear you, or deemed your question irrelevant or pathetic (or both), and not worthy of an answer.
ITEMS IN YOUR GAME ROOM Each room is provided with a basket to keep all game pieces and clues organized in one location for open observation by everyone in your group. Picture frames never need to be disassembled, just as re-arranging flowers will not disclose any valuable clues. A slight tug can tell you if something is meant to come apart or not. Games are designed to require mainly simple observation or relocation of certain items, so just collect obvious items of interest. Everything pertaining to your game requires only GENTLE handling, so if it takes more than a light tug, it's best left alone. SPINNER BOARDS Your game will have at least one spinner board somewhere within the play area. The spinner board is utilized by the Reaper ONLY, to convey certain messages when necessary. NEVER TOUCH spinners or the spinner doors, but be sure to check them periodically for potential clues. DO NOT TAMPER WITH, ALTER OR DAMAGE ANY OF OUR PRICELESS ARTIFACTS! All of our games are generally designed to require mostly simple observation. Hitting, forcefully pulling, pushing, breaking off, climbing on or yanking any items no matter how small, can constitute a warning or possible expulsion from the arena altogether. Therefore, every player must acknowledge that they can and will be liable for any damages resulting from such actions. The cost of repair or replacement of any lost or damaged items can be charged to the credit card used at the time of booking, so handle items with care and be sure that you are not accidentally leaving with any items as well. REPLACING LOCKS AND LOST GAME PIECES During your game, please remember to keep all game items in clear view, and either leave locks where they were, or in the basket. NEVER put any items in your pocket, as lost game pieces can potentially disable a game completely for all other groups until the piece is replaced! EXITING A ROOM If a teammate needs to leave the room during game play, simply inform the Reaper who will promptly send the Game Master in, blindfold the person and then escort them back to the entrance area. This will not stop your game or the clock...nothing stops the clock. The person may then be allowed to re-enter if they wish. However, choosing to leave the game entirely may jeopardize your odds in making a successful escape. FAILURE TO ESCAPE The Reaper is assuming that you will most likely fail. If you prove him correct in his prediction, we will take your team’s picture with your phone with the message 'Have you seen us?" or "Missing Persons". SUCCESSFUL ESCAPE Teams successfully escaping will have the opportunity for The Greeter to take their picture on their phones with the message 'WE SURVIVED' for that particular room. In addition, the wonderful people of Post Road Recreation Center will reward each player with either a free fountain pop or FlavorBurst ice cream cone for their achievements as an awesome team.
